West Side Toury (Ontario, CA - 04/30/10)
We woke up in style yesterday. Somehow we convinced ourselves to get up early and indulge in the free breakfast that the hotel provides… only catch was it ended at 9:30. After loosing 2 hours because of the time change and playing a late show, it was a tough sell against more sleep.
The drive to Ontario, CA took us two hours. We pulled up at the Eclectic Skate Shop where we saw about 30 little hellions ripping it up in the storefront. I was suddenly happy that I found a way to cram my skateboard in the van. I tore it up for a little while, and when I say tore it up I mean that I got winded after 3 tricks and stopped. It was cool watching all the kids skate though. They were amazing and you could tell that they were serious as shit about their sport.
The kids were replaced by slightly older kids who came to see the show. We played second, supporting a local band and had a decent show. Andrew’s friend Sara, lives in Santa Monica which is on the way to our next show. We headed there and settled in for the evening. Other than me watching Rush Hour 2 on Netflix, it was kind of a laid back day.
