PARACHUTE MUSICAL

West Side Toury (Scottsdale, AZ - 04/28/10)

Living easy. We’ve been staying in Scottsdale, AZ for the past two days at Tom’s Dad’s house. It’s an incredible home in a gated community equip with a pool, beautiful grand piano, pool table and the like. It has been a perfect place to recharge our batteries after eleven days of sporadic showers, concrete floors and other such ‘awfuls’.

We woke up, all in separate beds mind you, to the sun shining bright. After taking care of the morning routine (shit, shower, shave, breakfast, internet) we headed outside to frolic in the pool. It was like 95 degrees of the driest heat I’ve ever experienced. I was in love. I stayed in the sun WAY too long and got sun burned on all the places that had NOT seen the sun in a very long time… gnomesayin’. Andrew, Tom and Ben threw down in the pool as I continued to get sunburned.

Later that day, Tom’s wonderful half brothers came home from school and hung out for a bit before we had to go play in town that night. We ate an amazing Italian dinner prepared by Tom’s dad (he’s Italian). The table setting was a beautifully rustic red and white tablecloth, matching napkins, and deep bowls for the oncoming pasta. The antipasti was a German meat called Schpeck (sp?), smoked turkey, tomato stuffed olives and the like. It was delicious.

We made it to Rouge bar and play to a few thousand people. It was cool to play to a smaller crowd for once, we’re getting tired of the arenas.
