PARACHUTE MUSICAL

Durham, NC (03/01/10)

After getting an old tattoo finished in Fayetteville we made our way to Durham, NC. Kevin, the tattoo artist, drove up with us to watch us play. After our successful Fayetteville “show” we decided to try our luck at another open mic night in Durham. It was nowhere near as good as our time at the Rock Shop but it was fun. The bar we played was called the Pinhook. There were a decent amount of people there but they left as we were setting up… perfect timing. We had a lot of fun though. At the end of the night the guy putting on the open mic night led everyone in a singalong. We played old songs like “18&1” and “Oh My Darlin”… It was a freekin’ blast. After that we went to a 24 hour diner with Kevin and two friends that always come to our shows in the triangle of NC. Amanda, one of the aforementioned friends, paid for the entire meal! After that, Kevin got us a hotel room at the Holiday Inn right off of the the highway we needed to be on the next day. It was extremely nice of him and we can’t thank him enough. It’s people like Kevin and Amanda that make off days magical. We can’t thank you guys enough for the kindness you showed us. Being out on tour and not playing a “real” show (even if it is for one night) can be awful… thank you for turning an otherwise shit day into something great.
