Charleston, SC (02/27/10)

I love Charleston! We’ve had some of the most memorable tour moments here. Our last visit through this awesome city was with The Winter Sounds. They introduced us to an awesome couple that took us surfing and were super hospitable. Before that, when Kyle was in the band, we would sleep in the town of Foley beach at his uncle’s place. This is where we me Sequoyah Prep School and had many a fun time with All Get Out. I love the downtown area and all the interesting restaurants. I think I’d like to end up down here one day when I’m an old man.

Our good friends, the Kelafants(sp?), took us out to a great French meal after our in store performance at Monster Music and Movies was canceled. This is the 3rd time they have attempted to come see us play and the shits been canceled. They’re always so great to us though. Last time we played Chucktown they took us (and Jennifer Justus) to a delicious Italian meal. This time the food and ambiance was a bit more rustic but equally good. They insisted on buying merch, practically funding the next three days of driving. They are just great people and I hope that they continue to make the valiant effort to come see us… and hopefully next time it won’t get canceled.

So we played The Tin Roof with a guy named Steven Fiore and a band called the Advice. Both bands were good but I was most impressed with Fiore. He had such a great way with lyrics. They were plain and in your face but they twisted around the center point really well. I really liked everything about his performance.

The bar paid us well and picked up our tab. We all had beds. We’re making great money. There’s nothing to really complain about. We’re all just living it up in Charleston.
