PARACHUTE MUSICAL

BGV’s for Burger Monk

Hey there,

A few days back Tom and I had the opportunity to do something pretty cool. So around the mid 60’s there was a group of American GI’s stationed in Germany. They formed a band called, The Monks. The Monks were pretty “odd” for their time, being dubbed as the “anti-Beatles”. Their cult following grew and they reformed in 1999. In the meantime, Gary Burger wrote several solo songs that he wanted recorded. He called up his good friend, Russ Pahl (Nashville, TN pedal steal hero) to get an EP made. Russ offered a spot for Tom and I to sing backing vocals on the songs and we jumped on the opportunity. Fred Eldridge played drums on this thing too… he plays with Jacoby Dylan and has done a million and one things including playing drums on a record by our friends, Pico Vs. Island Trees. I had great video footage but it turned out pixalated… not quite sure why. But if you get a chance, check out This movie by Play! productions.
