Single Release Tour - Greenville, SC (Day 17)
It’s bitter sweet. On the one hand we get to go home to our girlfriends, warm beds, meals other than fast food and all the various familiarities of everyday life that comfort us. On the other hand we’re finished playing shows for a couple of weeks, we’re leaving some new friends who we grew very close to… that always leaves a little bit of a lump in your throat. Then again, on our third hand, we made lots and lots of money so everything is just fine :)
Our last day of tour, and so many “last days” before it, was at the Channel in Greenville, SC. I love the Channel for so many reasons: it’s all ages, Jay (the owner/sound man) is an incredible human being and the kids are just stoked for live music. Also, there’s a great Pho place across the street. This time we passed on Pho for an amazing Mexican feast with two friends who have been coming out to PM shows in Greenville for some time now. They were kind enough to treat us to this meal, the same meal that put me in a food coma, the same meal that gave me a TON of energy for our last show (after my nap).
I love coming to Greenville, we’ve always done pretty well here and it just keeps getting better. Being on a bill with Sequoyah didn’t hurt either. I had my best show of tour, which was so awesome! Heading home after a great tour is one thing, heading home after going out with a bang and playing your best show of said tour definitely trumps the aforementioned feeling. I can’t tell you all how grateful I am for the love and support we’ve been shown on this run… the fans who drove from venue to venue to see us night after night, all of you who helped promote and making this a big tour, the new faces, people who spent money at our merch table (sometimes ridiculous amounts of money), the great sound men (some new some old) and most importantly our awesome/amazing/beautiful/incredibly understanding girlfriends who deal so well with this lifestyle. Thank you all.
Love,
Josh
