Single Release Tour - West Columbia, SC (Day 16)
Waking up at our friend’s house this morning was a little bit scary. We all slept pretty well but our friend didn’t mention to her parents that we were coming over and I think she was preettttyyy upset. After our lovely amiga made us some pancakes we said our goodbyes to her and Derek, who flew from Nashville to the show. It was nice to see him and Nick, who also stayed the night by the way. They both traveled to see the big Charlotte show and it was awesome hanging out with them.
We headed out to Columbia and arrived a little bit earlier then necessary. Killing time is a skill that I’ve not acquired yet, a coffee shop always seems like the way to go but the longer I stay the more time seems to stand still. I think I was particularly excited about playing tonight. Charlotte was amazing last night but according to Sequoyah, this show was going to kick its ass. They were right…
We loaded in and compacted our stuff into a little corner, back lining the rest. Around 8, people started showing up. Stray hounds, the opening act, played to a decent crowd and by the time we got up there it was packed out. A little over a year ago we played Baumer’s farewell show at Headliners and that was packed out. Too much time passed by without us revisiting Columbia. It was awesome to get back and even better to see familiar faces. After we played we hung out with the All Get Out guys a little bit. When Sequoyah was on their last song PM and Mike/Nathan of All Get Out got on stage and played random things. It was great, the crowd was amazing, we did well financially… I can’t express the gratitude I feel to the Sequoyah dudes for handing us such an amazing show.
We headed to a cheep hotel behind club 360, which was going OFF when we pulled in. This is all after a celebratory Waffle House dinner… Andrew ate more food than I thought was possible.
