PARACHUTE MUSICAL

Single Release Tour - Carrollton, GA (Day 14)

After leaving the Mitchell’s house for the last time this tour, we stopped by a good friend of Chase’s. This guy had a mini museum in his basement! The video says it better than I can but basically, everything that you see in the footage was signed… from the flag taken from the18th hole where Tiger Woods won his first Masters to the gloves that Muhammad Ali used to beat Joe Frasier with in their famous bout. It was just unbelievable and I’m glad I have that little story to take with me.

So we headed to Carrollton, GA to play at Alley Cat, a venue and town familiar to us. Our last visit to C-town was with Winter Sounds and it was a bang up show! Tonight was not any different. I noticed all of the same faces from last time and then some. We played two encores and people bought shit, tipped us and just made us feel very welcomed. It’s always interesting to have to set up your own PA pre-show though. After taking time to do that, Sequoyah set up around it and kicked ass.

After we were through playing we began packing up as usual when Andrew ran inside interrupting with a, “you all HAVE to come out here, you’re missing it.” I grabbed the camera and ran outside to see a car teeter tottering on a six or seven foot ledge. Apparently the driver was going to test his flight package or something, I don’t know. It was seriously about to tip off the ledge nose first. After some determination by the bar owner (who was surprisingly sober in comparison to our last visit) and the help of his drunken minions the car was pulled back to safety. The driver of said car was TRASHED. He got out of the driver’s seat stumbling. After being pulled to safety he decided he was okay to drive and went on his merry way, passenger in tow. Awesome decisions!!!

After leaving the venue having had a very successful night we went to someone’s after party. We stayed briefly but it was really fun. People were wasted but you could tell that no matter how drunk they got, they weren’t going to loose their cool and start fighting or some stupid shit like that. They were all just having a great time and it was cool to be apart of the “good vibes” if you will. After Ben went to find refuge in the van (sleep) we decided it was time to go. We stayed at our new friend Collin’s house. He writes for the West Georgian paper and did an interview with us earlier in the day. It was an interesting, more personal interview which was a breath of fresh air compared to the usual, “So what does Parachute Musical mean?” questions. THAT’S ALL FOLKS.
