Single Release Tour - Atlanta, GA (Day 13)
We woke up today at the Mitchell’s house, our good friends from Atlanta. Plenty of space led to each one of us having our own bed the previous night. We had the day off yesterday, which I hate. I feel like it’s really important that we make the most of our time while we are on the road. At the same time, having some time to ourselves is nice. I think what I enjoy most about having an off day is not having to protect my voice: not caring when or what I eat… not caring about drinking enough water (which I hate to drink)… things like that. I’m serious about protecting my voice so when it’s not an off night all of the above points come into play. I’ve never been good at being disciplined so it’s nice to not have to be occasionally.
We were treated to a great breakfast/lunch by our friend Chase. After that it was time for us to load into the Drunken Unicorn. We came through Atlanta with The Winter Sounds a few tours back and then again when we played at the 5 spot with The 54. We had a great crowd and saw a lot of familiar faces. The Young Orchids were the local on the bill and they were PRETTY damn sweet. I even hopped up on stage with Sequoyah and played Holy City on keys with them, which I was pumped as shit about. I say pumped a lot, but I feel like it just sums up my feelings about things nicely.
