Single Release Tour - Lafayette, LA (Day 10)
Samples here. Okay, so we woke up at a guy named Jordan’s house in Lake Charles, LA. We all got to sleep in because our drive was short today to Lafayette, LA. We took our time getting up and taking showers. We went over our new website 1st draft and discussed what we needed to change or ideas to make it better. It’s looking great and kudos once again to Allison Weiss, our designer. Anyway, we took so much time finishing all that up that by the time we left Jordan’s we were absolutely starving. Waffle House was on the brain so we packed up and GPS’d our way to the nearest one. All of us, except for Tom, got lots of food. Tom will starve himself if it saves him a couple of dollars. This Waffle House had higher prices than most, though.
I drove us to Lafayette and within an hour and a half we reached The Artmosphere. It was a small, hippie hookah bar. Obviously laid back but really cool. The first band, Water Seed, was very interesting. They were a funky jazz R&B band with a synth and a flute. They had two girls up front singing and dancing the whole time. They were very entertaining to say the least. Our set went very well and we received nothing but praise from everyone there. Kelly Keiling, the lead guitarist and lead singer of The Trans-Siberian Orchestra was there with some band mates from his new project, which was really cool. “You never know who’s out there in the crowd,” Tom told me just before the show when I was confessing to him that I wasn’t in the mood for performing. “In these smaller towns,” he said, “You never know if somebody big has returned home for whatever reason and just needed to get out of the house and take it easy somewhere in town.” Funny enough, Mr. Keiling had recently gotten back from their seasonal tour and returned home for a bit to Lafayette. “Born and raised here,” he said. What coincidence!
The night was good overall and after packing everything up we went to stay with a guy named Josh, whom Justin from Sequoyah Prep School knew. It was a very nice house with a good bathroom. Who could ask for more?
