PARACHUTE MUSICAL

No Comfort Release Tour - Oklahoma City, OK (Day 5)

I’m not feeling very verbally creative today. I’m going to hand the microphone to Andrew, who will be dictating this blog entry from the drivers seat:

“Ah, well… We woke up, you woke up, all choked up, missin’ my mama, missin’ the drama. Don’t write that! The temperature was perfect for once at someone’s house. We woke up very comfortably. Tyler, our new friend from Norman Oklahoma, showed back up and brought us a pizza for breakfast. We ate, shot the shit, finished up our ice sliding escapades and headed to the downtown area. We didn’t have a long drive so we decided to kill some time at café Plaid. “They were playing horrible “dad coffee shop hits” such as Lenny Kravitz, I Want To Get Away, the acoustic version.” (Tom) Tyler told us about this place called Fat Sandwiches which had been featured on the Food Network Show, Man Vs. Food. We went to check out their insane menu which featured monsters such as: The Fat Milf (Cheese steak, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, bacon, mayo, ketchup), The Fat Lush (Cheese steak, friend chicken breast, mozzarella sticks, BBQ sauce), The Chicken Doughnut (Fried chicken patty, American cheese on a glazed doughnut bun) and many others. Can you imagine the heart attack? Just looking at the menu filled us up. We ate nothing at that establishment. Instead, Josh and I went to Chipotle while Tom and Ben split off “pho” a little meal of their own… “pho” real though, the guy behind the counter said it was the best “pho” job he had ever had… that’s a little inside Vietnamese food humor. Then we went to the venue, which was modeled after the classic speakeasies of the 1920’s. “Pictures of Ben’s girlfriend lined the walls.” (Ben) “This was the same venue where we had the Bloody Old Mule encounter last February.” (Josh) There were not a lot of people there but those who were scattered about the room were Parachute Musical fans. We got to the point where we simply asked them from stage what they wanted to hear and then played it for them, abandoning our set. We sold a lot of merchandise to that small group of people and the venue ended up giving us a higher guarantee than expected. After the show, Adam, one of the bar tenders, offered us a place to stay. It was a house that he recently bought, into which he had not yet moved. So, we took him up on his offer, following him to the house. The house was cool, totally empty, but the water and electricity were running so we were golden. The only piece of furniture there was a large pool table. Ben and Josh shot around a little bit and then everyone went to sleep, excited for our entry into Texas the next day. Holla!”
