No Comfort Release Tour - Little Rock, AR (Day 3)
Waking up to a lovely breakfast banquet, an extremely large Great Dane named Riley and a roaring fire today… all while enjoying the comfort of a perfectly aligned spine. I have to tell you, it was an amazing treat to receive that kind of hospitality after the first show of tour. Usually, that’s a day of being sore and having a scratchy throat, especially in that kind of cold weather. I think because of our friend Bobby’s dedication to our comfort we woke up refreshed and ready to play show without an aching bone in our bodies. As we began driving I started to get sleepy so I took a nap after our first stop… I woke up six hours later in Little Rock Arkansas. I feel that I shouldn’t be writing this blog since I missed much of the day, but now Andrew and Ben are the ones sleeping and Tom is driving so I don’t have a choice.
The show at Sticky Fingers in Little Rock had extremely poor attendance. Actually, we played to the extremely kind staff, the kick ass sound man named maestro and a girl name Lizzy… a regular. The venue provided a good meal and drinks for all. They even paid us… from what, I have no idea… but we were paid nonetheless. The venue also recommended a hotel down the street (since we knew of no one to stay with) called The Legacy. Strangely enough, the hotel was only $59 bucks, cool with us all staying in the room, had a late check out of 1pm and had a continental breakfast. That is SUPER odd for a hotel, especially one as nice as this. Because of the crowded sleeping arrangements, I ended up on the floor next to the heater. Needless to say, last night was one of the most awful nights of sleep I’ve ever had… goodbye aligned spine… goodbye day one hospitality/rock star treatment… hello room full of sweaty stinky ass dudes. Reality.
