No Comfort Release Tour - Nashville, TN (Day 1)
Yesterday was a whirlwind of craziness. After we clocked out of our various day jobs for the last time for a few weeks, we met at the band house. Loading up in the zero degree weather was no walk in the freekin’ park. Let me tell you, it has been no joke here in Nashville. The snow is weak compared to where most of us grew up but the ice and frigid temperatures have been stupid-crazy-go-nuts. That combo doesn’t make for a good record release show scenario. Schools were being canceled all week, venues were closing… basically, we didn’t think we were going to have a show (or people to fill one out). It turned out to be awesome. I couldn’t believe people left their warm houses to come out on a zero degree night. I’m not sure I would have left my house to see a show that night. Regardless, the place was packed out and everything was amazing. We can’t express our gratitude to Nashville Friends / fans and family enough.
We Played a lot of new songs and had some special guests for one such song. The lovely Brooke Waggoner sang BGV’s beautifully on a laid-back tune that requires some musical chairs on PM’s part. The great Russ Pahl, studio/touring pedal steal player (plays with Vince Gill, Willie Nelson… the list goes on) graced us with his presence on the same song. I thought I was going to cry listening to him in the solo section. That’s no joke people… he was that good. Sequoya Prep School (our tour mates for the next few weeks) and De Nova Dahl were fucking incredible.
I am pumped about life and the way things are going. This is the YEAR OF PARACHUTE MUSICAL, I can feel it. My heart is heavy today driving away from my girlfriend, her son and our dog but I know I’ll see them soon… I love you guys so much.
Josh
