Starting the day off at our friend’s apartment without Andrew was a bit strange. He’s usually one of the first ones up and moving about in the morning. We went to a familiar restaurant called Chubby’s… mostly to “spite” Andrew since we knew he loved it during our previous visit… actually, there was no spite involved, it was just tasty. Rubbing it in a little was pretty fun though. It was a late load in today so we hiked around Charlotte looking for something to do. We hung out in a vintage clothing store, went to taco bell (the older version) and peeked in a tattoo parlor… tempting. There was an early show at The Evening Muse featuring a blue grass band. They were incredible! Watching those old dudes TEAR IT UP on their instruments was great. We headlined tonight to another small but excited crowd. I decided to play an acoustic song to get my nervous meter going. I was thinking about very early PM shows recently and how I would get nervous to perform. Now that we’ve been touring awhile I just get excited, but that’s because I’m comfortable and feel in my element. Put a guitar in my hands, get me on stage and ask me to play a song I’ve played maybe three times and it’s a totally different story. I get nervous, excited, the adrenaline is pumping and I feel like I have to tame all of those things and get through it. I like it though… putting myself in that sort of uncomfortable live situation. It makes you think more. Very exciting. Now we’re back at our friend’s Bryan and Shanta’s house about to eat some food and go to bed!
Night,
Josh
