PARACHUTE MUSICAL

New York, NY - 09/15/09

Cut to last night: We leave the venue in Philly and only after stuffing our hard-working stomachs with cheap Chinese food we head back to Brooklyn to Sarah’s (Ben’s girlfriend) apartment to spend the night once again. Ahhh, the morning came easily as we each slowly became conscience to the unrelenting sounds of the trains provoking the workday. A full, fresh 8 hours of sleep is a dream come true for any touring band. We had lots of extra time to kill so we decided to head downtown to Manhattan for a stroll. We ended up going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Central Park. We had a great time. Personally, my favorite part of New York is Central Park. I just love it; a little piece of heaven smack dab in the middle of the city. We eventually made it to Pianos, the venue we played at tonight. We were there for the long-standing “Cross-Pollination” show. It took place in the upstairs room, which was very small. We made due as always and the turnout out was surprisingly “chubby” ← ( I think it’s funny, using that word).  After the band, “How German Is It” played, we all got up on stage and played three cover songs: “How I Remember,” by David Bazan; “Major Leagues,” by Pavement; and “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” by Tears for Fears. They all went over well, especially the last one. Everyone was cheering. We all had a great show and a great night overall I feel. Josh just took a shower. I just blew up my air mattress. Ben is talking about the latest edition of “Questionable Content,” and Tom is on his phone, internet-stylee, I believe. Just another day in the life. Oh yeah, and the cat is licking my jeans right now.
