PARACHUTE MUSICAL

Carrollton, GA - Day 5 PM Winter Sounds Tour

What can I say? This trip has been very special for all of us. We woke up yesterday and left Charleston for a six hour drive to Carrolton, GA, a town to which we’ve never been. It was Jennifer Justus’s last day with us and I’m sure we were all a little sentimental about that, but we didn’t dwell. We were excited to still be together. She had taken a little time to herself the previous day to walk around Charleston and gather her thoughts about what questions she still needed from us. So with the six-hour journey ahead and waffle house in our stomachs, we set out to wax intellectually on the philosophy of what we do, how we do it, and, most importantly, why we do it. We even provided Jennifer with a few questions of our own and a little love advice from the male perspective. We had a wonderful drive and laughed a lot, one of the best parts of touring. We hit Carrollton thirty minutes behind schedule and raced through one of the best taco bell’s we’ve hit in a while.

The venue, Alley Cat, was small but great. Everyone there had character, and fun was definitely had. Our friend Ryan from Atlanta came to see us again and brought us homemade cookies. Five for each of us, including Jennifer. Awesome! The place was packed with college kids (West Georgia University is in Carrollton) and the show was awesome! Winter Sounds played two sets because the night was too young by the time they finished and people were not done dancing. We all lined up in front of the band and did the running man. We met Jennifer’s mom who came to pick Jennifer up for her departure. Coolest mom ever! She totally hooked us up with a hotel room at the Jameson. We all needed a good night’s rest in a bad way, as Josh was starting to lose his voice. We finally got some internet hook up and chilled out ‘til sleep stole our conscience as Crocodile Dundee goes to Los Angeles rambled on in the background (on the sleep timer, of course).

This morning came awful fast but we showered up in time to check out and make it to this badass coffee shop on the square called the News Stand. We have a short drive ahead today to Columbus, GA and so taking our time is definitely in the plan. Losing “The Justus” has changed our dynamic a little, and left us a little sad, but we press on, looking forward to the days ahead. Now I gotta poop.

Publish that!
