As this blog is being written, the mixing of our record is underway! We’ve come a long way since loading in our gear here at Cleveland’s Closer Look Studios three weeks ago. It’s like we’ve each lived a whole chapter of our lives here. We’ve been so entirely consumed with the album.. everything you hear in it is the result of some very hard work, and even a bit of...

Hello again from freezing cold Cleveland, OH! We’re about halfway through the recording process, and two days ago we reached a great milestone: the completion of all basic tracks (drums, bass, guitar, Rhodes and piano)! Since yesterday, our days have consisted of Ben tracking percussion in the morning, followed by Josh working on main vocals beginning in the afternoon and ending sometime...

More pics for ya from Cleveville, Ohio. We’ve been pulling some really long days recently- getting to the studio around noon and not leaving until 1 or 2am. The time goes by so quickly while you’re here, especially if you’re tracking. If you’re NOT tracking, which it’s 3/4 odds that you’re not, you’re left with plenty (too much) free time. So we try and...

Josh tracked his Rhodes/synth parts for most of the songs today. Tom began some guitar tracking. Small progresses were made throughout the day.. like deciding which Hungry Man microwave meal to eat when it comes time for dinner.
Ibanez MOSTORTION pedal used to give Josh’s Rhodes signal some ballz.
Rhodes tracking.
Two amps the Rhodes went through. A Motion Sound (Josh’s...

Not too much to report today. It was an off day, so we went to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame (bands get in free upon presenting their CD). Saw Michael Jackson’s glove/Thriller werewolf mask, Sting’s Syncronicity tour jacket, stage props from Pink Floyd’s The Wall tour, a few of Hendrix’s guitars, lots of Beatles stuff, and much more. It was pretty sweet. We also went to...

Here’s what we did yesterday, our second day in the studio. It was primarily a drum tracking day.. with Ben working hard for 12 hours straight, and Josh, Andrew and Tom finding things to do (eating snacks, trips to Guitar Center, watching snow, eating snow). Overall, it was a great day, with Ben nailing all of his tracks well ahead of schedule!

Greetings from Cleveland, OH. It’s our second day in the studio and Ben has been tracking the drums since 11am (and rocking it). We spent yesterday doing preproduction, mapping tempos and getting scratch tracks. Being around Jim is great.. his experience and know how has come into play lots already.. the dude is a badass. It’s just really cold here.. snowing outside as we speak. Here...
