A canceled show, Lotsa snow and the Grammys... yo
Sorry Nashville people, the show was canceled yesterday due to the fact that 50% of the band couldn’t get out of their driveways. You can find comfort in the fact that 3 Nashville bands took home some Grammys tonight. Taylor, Kings and those other guys with Bonnaroo beanies on… something about chicken and it being fried. We’re really sorry about the show though. I...

It's Snowing In Nashville!
Hi there, Josh here. First and foremost, it’s been brought to my attention that people do not like when we let our Tumblr page go by the wayside (had to look up how to spell that - dictionary.com kicks ass). Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s my fault. I make the videos while on tour and it’s freaking time consuming. I do enjoy making them but it can just be a lot...

Single Release Tour - Greenville, SC (Day 17)
It’s bitter sweet. On the one hand we get to go home to our girlfriends, warm beds, meals other than fast food and all the various familiarities of everyday life that comfort us. On the other hand we’re finished playing shows for a couple of weeks, we’re leaving some new friends who we grew very close to… that always leaves a little bit of a lump in your throat. Then again, on our third hand,...

Single Release Tour - West Columbia, SC (Day 16)
Waking up at our friend’s house this morning was a little bit scary. We all slept pretty well but our friend didn’t mention to her parents that we were coming over and I think she was preettttyyy upset. After our lovely amiga made us some pancakes we said our goodbyes to her and Derek, who flew from Nashville to the show. It was nice to see him and Nick, who also stayed the night by the way. ...

Single Release Tour - Charlotte, NC (Day 15)
It was a long drive from Carrolton to Charlotte, most of which I spent reading my book… a book that will go unnamed because I am embarrassed that I’m reading it. I have this obsessive compulsive habit that if I start something, no matter how horrible it is, I have to finish it and whatever counterparts there are to it. Take the Twilight series, purely for the sake of an example. If someone,...

Single Release Tour - Carrollton, GA (Day 14)
After leaving the Mitchell’s house for the last time this tour, we stopped by a good friend of Chase’s. This guy had a mini museum in his basement! The video says it better than I can but basically, everything that you see in the footage was signed… from the flag taken from the18th hole where Tiger Woods won his first Masters to the gloves that Muhammad Ali used to beat Joe Frasier with in their...

Single Release Tour - Atlanta, GA (Day 13)
We woke up today at the Mitchell’s house, our good friends from Atlanta. Plenty of space led to each one of us having our own bed the previous night. We had the day off yesterday, which I hate. I feel like it’s really important that we make the most of our time while we are on the road. At the same time, having some time to ourselves is nice. I think what I enjoy most about having an off day...

Single Release Tour - Day off in Atlanta (Day 12)
We woke up at Madi’s awesome house with her awesome family being awesome again. It was awesome. They fixed us a bangin’ breakfast, and we all sat around the “last supper” table and enjoyed the pleasures of food and congregation together. Afterward, we went outside and played like little boys. We fought with toy guns and swords. We tossed the Frisbee and played football. It was good exercise, and...

Single Release Tour - Pensacola, FL (Day 11)
Waking up to a warm and sunny day was a surprise. We haven’t had one in awhile. When we left Nashville there was snow on the ground and it pretty much stayed that way for a solid week. The house we stayed at in Lafayette, LA was great and our host, Josh, was awesome but it was time to say goodbye. We got on the road to Pensacola, FL and had a lot of fun on the way there, listening to more...

Single Release Tour - Lafayette, LA (Day 10)
Samples here. Okay, so we woke up at a guy named Jordan’s house in Lake Charles, LA. We all got to sleep in because our drive was short today to Lafayette, LA. We took our time getting up and taking showers. We went over our new website 1st draft and discussed what we needed to change or ideas to make it better. It’s looking great and kudos once again to Allison Weiss, our designer. Anyway, we...

Single Release Tour - Lake Charles, LA (Day 9)
Really excited to get into Louisiana for the first time. We woke up at Adam and Stella’s place to a sleuth of breakfast tacos. They were delicious and we can’t thank our hosts enough for how awesome they were to us. After a quick look at Andrew’s old tour van and a gigantic aloe plant, we headed on our way. The drive was a bit far but sleeping in the back was a different change of pace...

Single Release Tour - Austin, TX (Day 8)
It’s day nine of our tour with Sequoyah Prep School and our third Texas date. Things couldn’t be going better… well they could, but as far as things on our level go, shit’s pretty amazing. Our last Austin show was a year ago, the panic attack episode. I’m pretty sure we mentioned it in the blog the day after it happened but if not, here’s the back-story. So I can’t stand when people ask me...

Single Release Tour - Denton, TX (Day 7)
Howdy ya’ll! This is bombastic Ben, writing from the 2nd bench seat of Patrick, our faithful van, splaining’ to ya about our life on the road! Morning was pleasantly long, as it was one of the few mornings we got to sleep well into the afternoon. We stayed with Danny of Oso Closo at his Dad’s house, which was cool because everyone kinda camped out in the living room. It’s common for our hosts...

Single Release Tour - Ft. Worth, TX (Day 6)
We’ve been so excited to get into Texas… Don’t freekin’ mess man! We headed out of Oklahoma City after staying in a bad ass house and getting a great night’s sleep. The cities we visit in Texas have always been amazingly great to us, so our anticipation for good shows was really high. We joined forces for the next two dates with our good friends and former tour mates, Oso Closo. Ft. Worth,...

I’m not feeling very verbally creative today. I’m going to hand the microphone to Andrew, who will be dictating this blog entry from the drivers seat: “Ah, well… We woke up, you woke up, all choked up, missin’ my mama, missin’ the drama. Don’t write that! The temperature was perfect for once at someone’s house. We woke up very comfortably. Tyler, our new friend from Norman Oklahoma, showed...

No Comfort Release Tour - Enid, OK (Day 4)
It was another six + hour drive to the next city, Enid Oklahoma. The first leg of this tour has been riddled with them… they’re kind of draining and I’m looking forward to the short rides to come down through Texas. We had a decent morning considering the awful sleep that most of the various band members had at The Legacy Hotel in Little Rock (the floor sleepers that is). Some have been...

No Comfort Release Tour - Little Rock, AR (Day 3)
Waking up to a lovely breakfast banquet, an extremely large Great Dane named Riley and a roaring fire today…  all while enjoying the comfort of a perfectly aligned spine.  I have to tell you, it was an amazing treat to receive that kind of hospitality after the first show of tour.  Usually, that’s a day of being sore and having a scratchy throat, especially in that kind of cold weather.  I think...

No Comfort Release Tour - St. Louis, MO (Day 2)
The drive from Nashville to St. Louis if very familar to PM.  I think this makes eight or nine St. Louis shows for us.  Unfortunately, the majority of them have been poorly attended and unproductive.  For whatever reason, this time was different.  We had a nice crowd of about 30 or 40 people there, many of which were there to see us.  That was such a great feeling.  The following story was NOT a...

No Comfort Release Tour - Nashville, TN (Day 1)
Yesterday was a whirlwind of craziness.  After we clocked out of our various day jobs for the last time for a few weeks, we met at the band house.  Loading up in the zero degree weather was no walk in the freekin’ park.  Let me tell you, it has been no joke here in Nashville.  The snow is weak compared to where most of us grew up but the ice and frigid temperatures have been...
